Pem took her first yoga class with a lot of trepidation at age 18. But all of her preconceptions (that one must be flexible from the onset or have spent years cultivating stillness and discipline) washed away after that first class.
She realized it would take dedication, consistency and an open heart to understand and weave yoga into her life. 22 years ago, Pem completed a two year rigorous Sivananda Yoga course in Geneva, Switzerland.
Her journey to teach began 10 years ago when she completed her first 200hr training with Yoga Arts in 2010. She did an additional 200hrs with Bodhi Yoga Academy in July 2016 and an additional 200hrs with Bryce yoga in 2017.
"There is so much to learn and re-learn" she says, adding "especially if your are working with and catering to different bodies and minds".
A regular yoga workshop and training junkie, Pem loves to dig deeper into her practice & cultivate more knowledge on all eight limbs of yoga. As a teacher, her classes are a playful hybrid of various disciplines (Ashtanga, Hatha, Yin) with an emphasis on alignment and safety.
Pem is a registered prenatal yoga teacher (RPYT) and Yogi Beans, NYC certified kids yoga instructor.
Pem is certified in Antigravity yoga level 1 & 2 and Air Barre. She has been teaching Antigravity classes for 3 years.
She is also Level 1 Stott Reformer Pilates trained.
